Sons of God or Sons of Seth? An Examination of the Nephilim

Sons of God or Sons of Seth?
An Examination of the Nephilim

Introduction

One of the most misunderstood, ignored, misinterpreted, confusing, difficult, unbelievable, and just weird biblical facts is the Genesis story of the Sons of God in Genesis 6:1-4:

“And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the Sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, ‘My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years’. There were giants (Hebrew ‘Nephilim’) in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the Sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.”
Since we, as true believers in Jesus Christ and His infallible Word, believe what we read, we struggle with references to things we do not have a way to relate to. It’s hard to visualize some things that we may not have ever seen or even considered, perhaps some things we have already formed opinion on that may be in the category of superstition, even mythology. Also, if consideration is made for the many different translations of the Bible available today, then we can become confused as to the true meaning of certain verses or concepts. Like, just who are the “Sons of God”? Isn’t that a designation for the true heart-believers in God and His Son, or does it mean something else? How do we tell what is meant or gain further understanding on the true meaning of “Sons of God”?
When we have an “issue” with understanding part of God’s Word, we should first pray that the Holy Spirit reveal the true meaning of the verses or concepts so that we can be assured that we are spiritually satisfied. Paul said in Acts 15:28, “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us…”, and this is an indication that since the Holy Spirit is our guide and conscience in this life, if we consult Him with the everyday things of life, then we can know spiritually if interpretations are sound. But, this always has to be in accord with Scripture in its entirety. We cannot depend on “feelings” to interpret Scripture. We must couple deep study and knowledge of God’s Word with depending on the Holy Spirit and resources from men of God to accurately and clearly interpret Scripture.
Back to the verses from Genesis 6, some interpret the term “Sons of God” to refer to the offspring of Seth, the third son of Adam and Eve, the son that came to replace the slain second son Abel. The true interpretation of the “Sons of God, is that this term applies to angels, God’s special creation of spirit beings with great power and abilities. Here are some verses from the Word that show that the “Sons of God” are angels: Job 1:6, “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them”; Job 2:1, “Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them to present himself before the LORD; and Job 38:7, “When the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy…”
Outside of Scripture, there is Josephus, a Jewish historian of the first century, who said, “for many angels of God accompanied with women and begat sons that proved unjust, and despisers of all that was good, on account of the confidence they had in their own strength.” Another well-known first century A.D. Jewish writer, Philo of Alexandria, shared Josephus’ views on this topic. In his work “On the Giants,” Philo wrote, “’And when the angels of God saw the daughters of men that they were beautiful, they took unto themselves wives of all them whom they chose.’ Those beings, whom other philosophers call demons, Moses usually calls angels…”
The Book of Enoch, written before the Flood of Noah and which survived to our day against great odds, deals extensively with the fall of the angels. It was viewed favorably by some early “Christian” writers such as Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria, and others. However, it was never universally accepted as inspired Scripture probably because some Jews used it as a basis to worship angels. This is a selection from the Book of Enoch which records the sin of the angelic “watchers”, Enoch 6:1, “And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: ‘Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children.’ And Semjaza, who was their leader, said unto them, ‘I fear ye will not indeed agree to do this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin.’ And they all answered him and said, ‘Let us all swear an oath, and all bind ourselves by mutual imprecations not to abandon this plan but to do this thing.’ Then sware they all together and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon…”
Many early Christian writers accepted the story told in Enoch as fact. Justin Martyr, who lived from 110 to 165 A.D. said in chapter 5 of his Second Apology, entitled “”How the Angels Transgressed”, “God, when He had made the whole world, and subjected things earthly to man, and arranged the heavenly elements for the increase of fruits and rotation of the seasons, and appointed this divine law – for these things also He evidently made for man – committed the care of men and of all things under heaven to angels whom He appointed over them. But the angels transgressed this appointment, and were captivated by love of women, and begat children who are those that are called demons; and besides, they afterwards subdued the human race to themselves, partly by magical writings, and partly by fears and punishments they occasioned, and partly by teaching them to offer sacrifices, and incense, and libations, of which things they stood in need after they enslaved by lustful passions; and among men they sowed murders, wars, adulteries, intemperate needs, and all wickedness…”
The Book of Jude refers to the Book of Enoch and the fallen angels. Jude 14 and 15 says, “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him”. Also, Jude 6, “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”
The New English Bible presents a clear picture of what Jude was saying in Jude 6 and 7, “Remember too the angels, how some of them were not content to keep the dominion given to them but abandoned their proper home; and God has reserved them for judgement on the great Day, bound beneath the darkness in everlasting chains. Remember Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighboring towns; like the angels, they committed fornication and followed unnatural lusts; and they paid the penalty in eternal fire, an example for all to see.”
When we search the Bible as good students, we discover names of tribes or nations of people that are described as being very different from the rest of us. The story from Numbers 13:28, 31-33 adds to the dilemma of understanding the terms of the giants or Nephilim and the Sons of God since it introduces further details:
“We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there… But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”
What are we to make of these strange (to us) verses about people that seem to be very unusual? Just who was Anak? And exactly what was a Nephilim?
Some more detail is found in Deuteronomy 3:1-4, 11:
“Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei. And the LORD said unto me, Fear him not: for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into thy hand; and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon. So the LORD our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining. And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.…For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.”
This Og of Bashan guy was a tall man with a bed that was thirteen and a half feet long and six feet wide (Deuteronomy 3:11). Where did he come from? Why was he so tall?
And, of course, there is the most famous giant of all, Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:1-7:
“Now the Philistines gathered their forces for war and assembled at Sokoh in Judah. They pitched camp at Ephes Dammim, between Sokoh and Azekah. Saul and the Israelites assembled and camped in the Valley of Elah and drew up their battle line to meet the Philistines. The Philistines occupied one hill and the Israelites another, with the valley between them. A champion named Goliath, who was from Gath, came out of the Philistine camp. His height was six cubits and a span (nine feet nine inches). He had a bronze helmet on his head and wore a coat of scale armor of bronze weighing five thousand shekels (125 pounds); on his legs he wore bronze greaves, and a bronze javelin was slung on his back. His spear shaft was like a weaver’s rod, and its iron point weighed six hundred shekels (15 pounds)…”
From all of these questions and evidence, what conclusions can we draw?
Examination
In order to understand Scripture fully, it is always a good idea to consult several different translations provided that those translations are established, trustworthy, and accurate renderings of the Bible’s original languages. One need not know Hebrew or Aramaic or Greek to dig deeper into the original meaning of words in the Bible. There are numerous commentaries and concordances that can be utilized to discover deeper meaning from the original languages and manuscripts which are the oldest of any ancient book known to man dating back to the third century A.D. for the New Testament and to the Dead Sea Scrolls of the Essenes that came from the time of Jesus when He lived in Israel.
So, what does “Sons of God” look like in the original Hebrew? “Bne-Ha-Elohim” is the Hebrew for “Sons of God” where Elohim is a plural name for our Triune God that means “Strong and Faithful One”. “Bne” denotes a male or a son. The “daughters of men” is easy and understandable and sets these apart from the “Sons of God” since they are “Bnoth-Ha-Adam” or daughters (“Bnoth”) of mankind not God (“Adam”). Why would the Lord use a reference to the daughters of men (Bnoth-Ha-Adam) and then use Sons of God (Bne-Ha-Elohim) if He was referring to plain human men? Why not continue the pattern and refer to them as sons of men (Bne-Ha-Adam). It seems clear that the Lord was making a clear distinction between the sons of men and the Sons of God.
The Hebrew word “Nephilim” means “giants”, but many today and in the past have interpreted this to refer to the offspring of the Sons of God and the daughters of men as offspring of the Sons of Seth, meaning specifically the third son of Adam and Eve, and his sister or sisters since there were no other females at the time. This view is not supported by a close examination of Scripture, however, since the title “Sons of God” (“Bne-Ha-Elohim”) is used five times in the Old Testament (Genesis 6:2-4 and Job 1:6, 2:1, and 38:7), and in all cases, it refers to angels created by God. A “Son of God” is a being brought into existence by a creative act of God like all angels and Adam himself who was “created in the likeness of God” (Genesis 5:1). But, Adam’s descendants are not creations directly from God, they are born in Adam’s likeness making them “Sons of Men”, not “Sons of God”. Only by being “born again” (John 3:3-7) can men become a new creation and become sons of God in a New Testament sense. Besides, how would offspring of Seth and unknown women be “giants” and not just ordinary humans. It also seems ridiculous to refer to “giants” in the sense of people with high integrity or moral character or leadership abilities since all descendants of Seth were just additions to the growing human race before the Flood.
Something to remember, which is highly significant, is that the Nephilim of Genesis 6 occur before the Flood of Noah, where all the other giants like the Rephaim, the Anakim, etc., occur after the Flood of Noah. Whatever the origin of these giants both before the Flood and after, even after God had caused the Earth to start over again due to the fact that “the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5), their existence reoccurred after the Flood as well as before.
When Joshua, Caleb, and the other ten spies that Moses sent in to scout the Promised Land at God’s command, they returned with just Caleb and Joshua ready to enter the land and conquer it. The other ten men insisted that they were not able to fight against the people of Canaan since they were stronger, of great stature, and “devourers” of men. This rebellion against the will of God caused the Israelites to wander in the wilderness for forty years until that evil generation died out and the new generation could enter the Promised Land.
But, who was Anak, or the Anakim? We need to start back in Genesis 6:4 where the “giants” in that verse in Hebrew are the Nephilim, or the offspring of the Sons of God and the daughters of men. In Genesis 14:5, we find Abraham’s encounter with the kings that kidnapped Lot, “And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim.” These Rephaims, Zuzims, and Emims are all, apparently, offspring of the Nephilim from Genesis 6 with variations in name due to the people near them and the number of generations descended from the original Nephilim. When the twelve spies returned to report to Moses, they mentioned a king Anak from which came the Anakim, a race of giants that possessed the land later given to Caleb who destroyed them. Deuteronomy 2:10 says, “The Emim formerly lived there, a people great and many, and tall as the Anakim.” The Emim was the name given to giants by the Moabites (Deuteronomy 2:10,11). The Ammonites named these same people the Zamzumim (Deuteronomy 2:20). Therefore, we can say from the biblical evidence spaced out over several books from the Pentateuch that the Nephilim were the offspring of the Sons of God and the daughters of men, then came the following generations of the Nephilim’s descendants called by several different tribes of people the Rephaim, Anakim, Zuzim, Emim, and Zamzumim, all descendants of the original Nephilim.
The Bible does not get into the details of just what Genesis 6:5 means: “the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually”. One way to interpret this is to use the Jeremiah 17:9 verse, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”, and say that the 1637 years from Adam to the Flood was without Scripture, without the Spirit’s indwelling, and without much knowledge of God. In this atmosphere, the evil would escalate where there would be, conceivably, only one righteous man left, Noah.
But there is a second, more ominous way to interpret the Genesis 6:5 verse, and that is to use two verses from the New Testament. In 2 Peter 2:4-5, it says, “God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down into Tartarus (hell), and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment: and spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the Flood upon the world of the ungodly.” Also, Jude 6-7 says, “The angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the Judgment of the Great Day (the Great White Throne Judgment). Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of Eternal Fire.” What do these two verses tell us about the wickedness from before the Flood? And why would angels sin and leave their “first estate”?
From these two pairs of verses from 2 Peter and Genesis 6, we see that there were fallen angels, part of Satan’s crew of one-third of the angelic realm that rebelled against God and were cast out of Heaven to the Earth and the second heaven or the atmosphere. We know from the Book of Job that Satan is allowed to return to Heaven and report to God there, but he has to be invited. Satan’s kingdom is the Earth demonstrated in his temptations of Jesus in Matthew 4. Some of Satan’s fallen angels, Sons of God (“Bne-Ha-Elohim”) came to Earth and were attracted to women, the daughters of men (“Bnoth-Ha-Adam”) (Genesis 6:1-4). The ancient Book of Enoch, recognizing that it is NOT Scripture, calls these 200 fallen angels “Watchers” and says it was these specific especially rebellious fallen angels that started the Nephilim or the offspring of the Sons of God and the daughters of men.
The ancient Book of Enoch was brought across the Flood of Noah and held in high esteem even up to the time of Jesus because Jude 14-16 quotes from Enoch. There are other references in the Bible to what Enoch wrote, like 2 Peter 2, but, the Book of Enoch was not included in the Canon of Scripture. It has been speculated that, at the time of the compilation of the books to be included in the Bible during the first through the third century A.D., that there was a tendency for Jews to worship angels. This concerned the church elders and fathers, so they excluded the Book of Enoch from the canon. Of course, the Holy Spirit was in control, but that was the human reasoned purpose in excluding Enoch. However, Noah preserved the Book of Enoch which contains a great amount of detail about the 200 fallen angels that desired to mate with human women and have children.
It must not be missed that prior to the Flood of Noah, Satan remembered God’s prediction that he made at the time of the original sin. Genesis 3:15 says, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Just to whom is God speaking? Satan. Then, just who are Satan’s seed? I believe there are two groups of Satan’s seed. The first group would be all humans that reject God and His statutes and become hard-hearted, utterly selfish, and unredeemable sinners destined for the Lake of Fire for eternity. Unfortunately, the number in this group is virtually all of humankind, since most reject the knowledge of God, Jesus, and the free gift of salvation through faith alone. The second group of “his seed” would refer to the offspring of fallen angels, Bne-Ha-Elohim, the Nephilim, the giants of Genesis 6. Consider this – if Satan could destroy the pure human genome and replace all human life with corrupted DNA, the DNA containing woman’s DNA and fallen angels’ DNA, then there would be no pure humans left and God’s plan to “crush” Satan’s head would fail. Given enough time, Satan’s plan had to work since Satan would engineer the population so that all humans would eventually have their DNA corrupted with unhuman, angelic DNA. If there were no “pure” humans, then Christ (the one of “her seed” who crushes Satan’s head) could not be the perfect example to other humans since all human DNA had been corrupted. Jesus could not even been born a “perfect” man because there would not have been any pure human mothers to choose to be the mother of Jesus.
But God thwarted Satan’s plan by recognizing it and all the evil that Satan’s seed was bringing onto the Earth. Enoch Chapter 8 verses 2 and 3 say, “And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways. Semjaza taught enchantments, and root-cuttings, ’Armaros the resolving of enchantments, Baraqijal (taught) astrology, Kokablel the constellations, Ezeqeel the knowledge of the clouds, Araqiel the signs of the earth, Shamsiel the signs of the sun, and Sariel the course of the moon. And as men perished, they cried, and their cry went up to heaven . . .” From this, we can see how much of the world’s thinking was influenced and corrupted by the debased ideas and morality of these fallen angels and their offspring that promulgated those ideas into the culture. God ended Satan’s initial plan by flooding the Earth and destroying all air breathing creatures which included, of course, all Nephilim. But, Satan, determined in his rebellion against all things that God wants, reinstituted his evil scheme after the Flood by re-introducing the Nephilim once again concentrating on the Holy Land and Canaan in particular. The tribes that God told Joshua to utterly destroy contained the new Nephilim in Canaan. Consider the following verses: Deuteronomy 2:10, 11, “The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims, which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites called them Emims; Joshua 11:21, 22, “And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities. There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.” Of course, one of those Anakim left in Gaza was Goliath whom David killed with a stone from his sling some 400 years after Joshua.
The monstrous character of the offspring of the Sons of God and the daughters of men is a strong demonstration that the Sons of God were not men but fallen angels who left their “first estate” (Jude 6) to mate with human women. Genesis 6:5 says that “every imagination of the thoughts of their heart was only evil continually”. If the Sons of God were just godly men who married ungodly women, which has happened many, many times throughout history, their offspring have never produced an entire planet whose inhabitants were thinking evil thoughts continually justifying God’s destruction of all living flesh save a boatload. Certainly, many offspring have come from godly men and ungodly women, but their offspring have not produced giants or unbelievably corrupt people. If it is true that both giants and mighty men can come from such mundane unions that happen all the time even today, where are they? Why don’t we see them today? There are an awful lot of unions going on and a lot of evil people arising, but where are the giants?
The word “Nephilim” means “giants” but it also means “fallen ones”. This is an indication that not only were the offspring of the Sons of God and the daughters of men real giants reaching heights much taller than Goliath who stood nine feet nine inches (some evidence exists of Nephilim reaching unfathomable heights of 20 feet or more), but that their character was so evil that God would resort to total destruction of all of them. Plus, there is an indication that other horrific things were happening before the Flood that is difficult to accept, but remains plausible.
Ancient literature and legend speak of gods, demigods, people with almost super power, “men of renown” that roamed the Earth. The Bible affirms these “men of renown”, the Nephilim, and most cultures across the planet have mythologies of a global flood, demigods roaming the Earth, and giants that were part of the stories. Isn’t it curious that the ancient Greek culture as well as the ancient Roman culture had very similar gods and demigods, but they had different names? Could that mean that those beings were real and just were named differently? What if so many of the so-called mythological legends we all heard about were actually based in truth, or at least some small amount of truth? Were Zeus and Hera the same as Jupiter and Juno? Were Aphrodite and Venus the same? Poseidon and Neptune? Ares and Mars? What if these so-called “gods” were Nephilim that stood as giants that were so strong they seemed to be supernatural? What if these “gods” who were half human continued to talk to the “Fallen Ones”, their fathers, and created the desire to build the Tower of Babel to “…Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” Were they trying to reach the “Fallen Ones” themselves as humans to be able to talk to the “gods’? Was Nimrod himself a Nephilim that urged his people to build this tower so he could reach the heights of his father, a “Fallen One”? Was this not Satan’s attempt to again thwart the plan of God to focus humans on “Fallen Ones” instead of upon the God of the Universe? Wouldn’t this tower and the associated mindset of its builders be objectionable to God Himself, taking everyone’s attention off of Him and onto something blasphemous and evil, so much so that he confused the languages of the humans so that this effort would stop and the different tribes of peoples would scatter across the Earth as God initially intended?
One thing unites all of mankind and also pertained to the Nephilim and their descendants. Death. Everything God created dies except angels. Their “death” will come when they are thrown for eternity into the Lake of Fire. But, their offspring die as evidenced by Goliath, Og of Bashan, and a brother of Goliath and another giant with 12 fingers and 12 toes that were killed by Jews (2 Samuel 21:19 and 1 Chronicles 20:6-8).
In having the spirits of their fathers, the “Fallen Ones”, somehow mixed with the spirit of the human mother, it would stand to reason that these giants (Nephilim) had immortal spirits, but of some unknown hybrid kind completely different from the regular human spirit and not subject to the same destinations after death. When their physical mortal bodies died, it stands to reason that their spirits would have still been immortal and continued living on, without a body, as ours does but with no place to go since only true human spirits would go to Sheol, the place of the dead as the Bible says, but human dead, not hybrid dead! The spirits of the dead Nephilim are called “demons”. The Book of Enoch differentiates between “demons” and “devils” which are fallen angels. In the time of Jesus, it was understood by the common people and especially rabbis that devils and demons are not the same, and this knowledge probably came from the Book of Enoch. Devils are fallen angels and demons are the disembodied spirits of Nephilim destined to roam the Earth. Devils are fallen angels, so they can fly about the Earth and assume human form to deceive us unless they are of the group that God imprisoned in Tartarus or the very pit of hell. But, it is the demons who are roaming the Earth, evil spirits who seem to be looking for bodies to inhabit after they die since they cannot go anywhere else. Jesus spoke of the difference in Mark 9:29, “But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting” indicating that this particular possession was probably a devil and not a simple demon. Consequently, the most likely origin of the demons in the Bible is that they are the immortal spirits of these dead giants or Nephilim. These are the demon spirits who now roam about, loosed from their dead bodies, literally millions of them or more.
The original Nephilim could reproduce, mated with other human women, and produced the Anakim, Emim, Rephaim, etc., who would be similar in traits but less powerful and probably smaller than the originals. The spirits of these children would have been like the fallen angels, immortal. These children would have become demons as well upon the death of their mortal bodies. There is every reason to think thought that these children could have been either male or female. This would mean that demons today could have at one time had male or female bodies.
What this leads to is the conclusion that Satan has not only a vast army of one-third of the fallen angelic realm at his command, he also has untold millions or billions of dead Nephilim spirits now known as demons willing to follow his lead, possess those susceptible to possession, and mislead and influence weak humans into thinking selfishly and ungodly.
The last consideration is even more bizarre than what has already been discussed. We have all heard stories and even seen drawings of such creatures as centaurs (half man, half horse), cyclops (one-eyed giant), manticores (lion’s body and human head), mermaids (half woman, half fish), Minotaurs (half man, half bull), satyrs (half goat, half man), sirens (man-eating beautiful women), sphinx (half man, half lion), and others. What if these abominable creatures were, in fact, real? Perhaps Satan caused demonic hybrids to appear to completely corrupt and destroy the human race and spit in God’s eye by corrupting the “very good” Creation by producing hideous creatures that God never designed! These “Fallen Ones”, the “Sons of God” who rebelled against God also sinned against not only God and His women, but against the animals, beasts, birds, and other creatures bringing forth half human half animal creatures which are so widely known throughout ancient cultures and civilizations and many were worshipped as gods. We have seen the god Anubis with bird head and human body in Egyptian hieroglyphs, the god of the Philistines Dagon who was half human half fish, and other atrocities. The Book of Enoch refers to these defiling creatures in Chapter 19:1,2, “And Uriel said to me: ’Here shall stand the angels who have connected themselves with women, and their spirits assuming many different forms are defiling mankind and shall lead them astray into sacrificing to demons as Gods, (here shall they stand,) till the day of the great judgment in which they shall be judged till they are made an end of. And the women also of the angels who went astray shall become sirens.’ It becomes clearer why God chose to completely destroy all living air-breathing things, not just humans, except representatives of His Creation on Noah’s ark in their pure, unadulterated conditions right down to their DNA.
Conclusion
The Bible is, first of all, the infallible, inerrant, inspired, truth. The very definition of truth is the Word of God which never changes and is the foundation of all morality and sound reasoning throughout the world and the hereafter. So, when we read of the Nephilim being the offspring of the Sons of God and the daughters of men, we have to believe it since it is the Word of God. Then we examine the evidence and we can draw sound conclusions from what we read and what we know from the human perspective. What we arrive at is a picture that is unsettling to say the least, but that picture is revealing in so many ways.
We have always been told that the enemy, Satan or Lucifer or whatever his real name is since both of these names are not his real name, is a liar, but that is not really true. Satan is a deceiver, not a liar. If all he did was lie, that would be easy to spot and avoid. Imagine God’s enemy saying things like, “God did not say that!” or, “God does not care about man!” rather than what he does say which is, “Did God really say that?,” or “Does God really care about the likes of you?”. Notice that the second set of questions plants a seed that leads us to question God or question our understanding. This is deceit and can be devastating to the unprepared or ignorant. A common lie such as saying God did not say something when one’s memory would reveal otherwise is not threatening where a deceptive statement can make any of us question our own memories or standards.
So, from this we can see where Satan can plan ahead over eons of time to implement a plan to literally and deceitfully corrupt the human genome so that a Savior born to save the lost of mankind might not be able to either find many due to corrupt DNA or might not even be able to find a “pure” human woman to be the mother of the Savior. Plus, he could provide super human giants to act like gods or hybrid human/animal atrocities to fool people into thinking that gods had arrived. Again, Satan deceitfully actually did these things and certainly did deceive many leading them to their destruction. What is concerning in these last days is that Satan may be planning something new for the people of today who may not be so inclined to believe in giants or hybrids. He may be about to bring forth aliens masquerading as the “Ancient Fathers” of the human race arriving in unbelievably real and magnificent flying saucers so as to explain the disappearance of millions after the Rapture. In this day of movies and television showing all sorts of science fiction, vampires, paranormal experiences, exorcisms, superhuman heroes, and other other-worldly creatures, does it not seem extremely possible that such an appearance would be heralded by the news media and virtually everyone on Earth as truth and the very plausible explanation not only for the disappearance of millions in a single minute but for the existence of mankind on this planet in the first place. We don’t need God to explain our existence. All we need is the truth from our “Ancient Fathers” who are so far advanced and benevolent. Sounds like the perfect satanic deceit for this, the End Times.
We have seen now where giants such as Goliath came from, we know why there seems to be at least two different kinds of evil spiritual possessions, we can speculate why the “ghost” hunters are finding evidence of ghosts since we now know of many Nephilim spirits called demons roam the Earth, and we can consider a notable turn in the explanations of the mysteries of how all those massive structures around the world with their stones weighing hundreds of tons were built. The Giant Nephilim were probably the builders of most Pyramids in Egypt, and not the Pharaohs. The Pyramid of Cheops cannot be built even by our most modern machines. That pyramid is constructed in a way which we have no knowledge of at the present time. Or, perhaps the Pharaohs were Nephilim themselves? Some hieroglyphs depict Pharaohs as being giants. The same conclusion can also be drawn for most great structures built all over the world either visible or buried, and at present under sea level. We can also see how the enemy could lead all of mankind without the Holy Spirit of God to believe a great lie, a deception, that explains evolution, the Rapture, our origins, and why we do not need a non-existent God in this post-modern, secular paradise we live in today.
It seems clear and we can now understand what God meant when he said that the thought of man was evil continuously before the Flood and why He needed to destroy all air-breathing life, not just humans. It seems to be happening all over again necessitating the elimination of all evil, non-believing people once more, but this time not with water, as God promised with his beautiful rainbow (definitely NOT a symbol of sexual disobedience as it sometimes is today), but with His judgment in the form of the scroll, trumpet, and bowl judgments of the Tribulation described in detail in the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
The Sons of God who left their first estate and sinned greatly against God and man still live, are soon to be released on the post-Rapture world, to join with the other fallen angels and the demons that are working in this pre-Rapture world to deceive, defraud, disrupt, and destroy once the Holy Spirit’s influence through the active Church of Jesus Christ is removed. Man has never seen nor ever will again see the horrible and evil things that are about to be revealed to the world. It is time to share the true Gospel with all that we can because the time is not just short, it is VERY short. God Bless and Maranatha!
